Hi I’m Lissie.
I’m an autistic mum of two wonderful autistic children, Izaac and Connie, which is where “Icon” gets its name.
As well as autism, Connie and are are awaiting diagnosis for ADHD. Connie also has Pathological Demand Avoidance, and suspected dyslexia.

Connie has many troubles with education and learning difficulties that set her back in school. It is estimated that around 70% of children with PDA are unable to access school due to the complexities of their nervous system responses to demands.

She is, however, the most creative little girl and her ideas and visions for all things artistic are just incredible. She dreams of selling things at markets and fairs, so I’m setting out to do just that and more – so that when her time comes, she’ll have all the support she needs to take this and run with it.

Being creative together is pure therapy for us and I hope to be able to share that joy with others as time moves on.

My ultimate goal is to show my little girl that you can achieve so much without academia and exams. I want to show them both that even with autism, we can live a full and successful life.

I hope to raise awareness of autism, PDA, dyslexia and ADHD on this journey, and therefore you will find a series of ‘useful links’ for those of you who want to learn more about any of these conditions.
